Periodontal disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. The disease is usually painless and is recognized as a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Because each case is unique, we provide our patients with an individualized comprehensive periodontal screening and treatment. Treatment options can include scaling and a carefully cleaning of the root surfaces to remove any plaque and/or calculus from deep periodontal grooves and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial toxins. In certain cases, periodontal surgery is necessary if it is determined that the tissue around your teeth is unhealthy
and cannot be repaired with other treatment options.
